News Releases
For the third consecutive year, Capital BlueCross has been named one of the Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania, ranking 16th among large companies.
“This award is particularly meaningful because it is based on how our employees view our organization, and to again earn this honor says that our employees continue to regard Capital BlueCross as highly as we regard them,” said Capital BlueCross President and CEO Todd Shamash. “This year especially, when many of our employees had to adapt to the challenges of working remotely during a pandemic, I have been continually impressed by their collective dedication and professionalism.”
Most Capital BlueCross employees began working remotely in mid-March, with a small number of staff continuing to work onsite to provide critical support services. Capital BlueCross will continue this work plan until at least May 2021 to best ensure the safety and well-being of its employees and their families.
The Best Places to Work in PA rankings were announced Thursday evening during a virtual awards ceremony. Capital BlueCross was among just 27 employers to make the prestigious list in the large-company category, as it did in 2018 and 2019. The annual Best Places to Work list honors 100 total employers, divided into small (15-99 employees), medium (100-249 employees) and large (250 or more employees) segments.
Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania is a public/private partnership founded by Team Pennsylvania Foundation, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, and the Pennsylvania State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management.
